“Dark, Luxurious, Regal”: this is rich, velvety, heady on a grand scale. Glorious Bulgarian rose is showcased once more, in a very different vein—she may be escorted by citrus and cassis, but they are upstaged by a smoky tobacco/ patchouli/sandalwood trio which shift the mood from a sprightly fruity rose to a darker brooding one. Damasc is such a satisfying tapestry of a perfume; I especially appreciate that it fits into the aesthetic of the line while demonstrating that Gauri is NOT a Johnny-One-Note.
